This first week of 2016 brings cold to the Mid Atlantic, finally. Monday saw me tromping out to the greenhouse to tuck in the baby anemone and ranunculus in under the frost blanket - the first time this was needed.
It always amazes me how cold hardy these two crops are. Even after an extremely cold 10 degree night, their leaves look just as green and healthy as any other time. Come April they'll be pumping out beautiful blooms.
The gardens are dormant and I too am right there with the plants. Hunkered down at home is where I want to be right now. Next week I'll start some more active planning for the year ahead.
